cupcake pie

I hung up and realized I should probably remind myself for future situations. A 55 Minute conversation with Genevieve ending at 3:05 in the morning. Nothing feels more like home than talking with her. If I was held at knife point and asked who knows me better, who loves me more, and who I can be most honest with I would have a hard time between her, on the other side of the country who I'm lucky if I get to see once a year, and my boyfriend who I live with every day. She's so much a part of my every day footsteps. She is somehow always in the back of my mind.

I feel so contrived trying to explain our relationship, so I'll chalk it to the couple of beers and lack of sleep. I just know I would throw some elbows for that bitch.

I have to go take off my boots and crawl into bed with Ted now. He knows me so well too... I love him more than cupcakes... but do I love cupcakes more than pie.

I don't quite know.

Sup Ya'll.

Cool Dad

By communicate more, I meant every couple of months.

Today is my Dad's Birthday. For those of you who have had the pleasure to spend time with my father, he is the coolest man on earth. He just so happens to be my best friend. I don't know what happened but I turned 18 and my dad and I just became tight. Not that we weren't close before, but moving out of my mom's house and becoming a functioning adult really made us tight.

Funny Dad story...

One night he had gone to a wedding and maybe had a bit too much to drink so asked his friend for the keys to his car (don't worry) so he could fall asleep in it. So he stumbles out to the car, turns it on so the heat would work, and passes out. Next thing you know he wakes up with a start to a man knocking on his window.

"Open up."

Obviously it's a cop and obviously he panics and rolls down the window.

"Licence and registration."

My Dad fumbles around dropping his wallet on the floor, revving the gas on accident, and making a general fool of himself. He starts to explain that he's drunk but really wasn't driving any where, he just wanted to sleep behind the wheel.

It was my Dad's friend all along.

But seriously, you have to hear my dad tell this one. It's amazing.

So today I'm taking him to the Top of The Hub for lunch. Only good things can prevail from it.

And now for some insight into the discussion of my next post

Yum foods.

So Ms. Jackson is responsible for the sweet rhyme at the top of my blog. Ms. Jackson you are for real.

A few weeks in the making, but 2008 and I have agreed to communicate with each other more and this is one of the ways to start. Back in the day I used to blog ALL THE TIME. In fact I think that 2000-2003 are periods of my life that are chronicled via livejournal check it out:

For some serious highschool/early college drama it's totally worth it. I find myself going through it with a bowl of pop corn on the edge of my seat wondering who I'm vaguely referencing to and hoping for that kiss/date/boyfriend.

My newest favorite thing this past year has been to cook and I would like to share my newest recipe with you:

Pulled Pork

So I got a crock pot for Christmas from Ted's parents and it is awesome!

I put my Pork Loin in the pot at 3:00 with a splash of water and half of a can of coke. I had rehearsal last night so I knew that we'd wouldn't eat until about 9:30.

When I got home it smelled awesome.

See, the crock pot did everything for me I just needed theBBQ sauce. I bought a store brand one because I didn't have time and I totally regret it. Do not buy Annie's Organic BBQ Sauce, make your own! I have a great recipe that follows... HOWEVER I did manage to save the Pulled pork. I added a little Katsup and Maple Syrup to the mix and it seemed to fix everything.

The pork just falls apart from a slow cooker which is aweosme, and just pour this mixture on top:

About 1 cup of Cider Vinegar
1 cup ketchup
3 Heaping spo0ns of brown sugar-I prefer dark brown
1 tablespoon mustard
A squirt of maple syrup
Some salt
Crushed red pepper to taste-I like a bite with all that sweet
Sautee some garlic
A splash of coke.
